News Broadway Couple Stephanie J. Block and Sebastian Arcelus Star in New Play Reading Tonight Midtown Direct Rep (MDR) presents a one-night-only reading of The Impossibility of Now, a new comedy by Y York, Oct. 18. The staged presentation features Broadway performers and real-life married couple Stephanie J. Block (The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Anything Goes, 9 to 5) and Sebastian Arcelus (A Time to Kill, Elf, Jersey Boys, Wicked, Rent).

Helmed by Will Pomerantz, the reading is presented at 7 PM at the South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC). Stage directions will be read by Marni Raab (former Christine in The Phantom of the Opera).  The play follows Carl, a brilliant science writer who is suffering from memory loss. "Before the accident, his worldview was clouded with darkness," state press notes. "But now, through fresh eyes and childlike discovery, he navigates his strange Las Vegas neighborhood in a surprising bright light. As the new Carl woos his longtime wife, Miranda, his unexpected demeanor upends her plans for a future with the tall attractive pediatric dentist. It is a comedy of remembering and forgetting."

The presentation kicks off MDR's 2015-16 season and is part of Theatre in the Loft, a series of staged readings of new plays and musicals.

SOPAC is located at One Sopac Way, South Orange, NJ. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at SOPACnow.org or by calling (973) 313-2787.
