Michael's Pub, the longstanding, legendary cabaret joint, will open in its latest location, Times Square, on Oct. 24. The boite's new home is the Renaissance New York Hotel, the shiny black skyscraper which holds up the neon Coca-Cola sign at the north side of the square.

For many years, Michael's Pub could be reliably found on E. 55th Street. Several years ago, however, the owner sold its place there and has since been looking for a permanent address.

The new location is in keeping with the Pub's latest cabaret offering, something called Broadway Frolics. The revue is patterned after the legendary midnight shows put together by Ziegfeld Follies impresario Florenz Ziegfeld. Those evenings, which featured such stars as Bert Lahr and Fanny Brice, were held after each Follies performance on the roof of the New Amsterdam Theatre on 42nd Street.

Frolics was to have begun Sept. 18 but was delayed due to technical difficulties, said a press spokesman. Whatever these difficulties were, they resulted in a new cast. Broadway Frolics will now feature Brady Schwind and Kate Jetmore, with Brian Hurley acting as musical director and accompanist, and Michael Lavine as musical consultant. (The previously announced cast included Bill Daugherty, Mark Hardy, Nina Hennessey and Connie Pachl. Paul Johnson is the musical director. The show will showcase songs, including some from little known Broadway shows.

Providing entertainment beginning Oct. 30 will be the Monday night institution, The New Orleans Funeral & Ragtime Orchestra (a combo often visited by the talents of a certain filmmaker-clarinetist). Tickets to Broadway Frolics are $25-$30, with a $15 beverage minimum. The Renaissance is located at 2 Times Square.
