Here Lies Love, the new David Byrne-Fatboy Slim musical that boasts Broadway's first all-Filipino cast, continues its upward trajectory. For the week ending August 6, the new musical grossed $914,855, its best week so far at the Broadway Theatre.

Another new musical continuing to soar at the box office is the stage musical adaptation of Back to the Future, which officially opened August 3 at the Winter Garden. The London import, directed by John Rando, brought in $1,470,612, a healthy increase of over $300,000 from the previous week.

It was also another record-breaking week at the Belasco Theatre, where Good Night, Oscar—featuring a Tony-winning turn from Sean Hayes—had its highest gross for the fourth consecutive week, taking in $930,030 over seven performances. The play is scheduled to end its limited engagement August 27.

But it's the long-running Disney hit The Lion King that was the top earner of the week, bringing in a whopping $2,493,550 at the box office, an especially impressive feat for a production that opened in 1997. The other highest-grossing productions were Hamilton ($1,922,324), Wicked ($1,910,102), Funny Girl ($1,828,701) and the Tony-winning revival of Parade ($1,814,013) over nine performances during its final week at the Jacobs Theatre.

Overall, Broadway productions took in $30,058,627, down 3.62% from the previous week, likely due to the closure of two shows. Attendance dipped 7% with 230,393 theatregoers paying an average ticket price of $130.47. Grosses and attendance are both likely to increase dramatically as several new shows open this fall.

Twenty of the 26 running shows played to 90% capacity or more; in fact, three productions—Hadestown, Hamilton, and Parade—played to over 100% capacity.
