News Broadway Kids to Return to OB's Houseman, Oct. 16, Then Tour Family favorite, The Broadway Kids Sing Broadway, will return for its fifth straight year at Off-Broadway's John Houseman Theatre, beginning performances Oct. 16. "The Kids" will also go on the road this year for the first time, with a 20-date tour set for next year.

Family favorite, The Broadway Kids Sing Broadway, will return for its fifth straight year at Off-Broadway's John Houseman Theatre, beginning performances Oct. 16. "The Kids" will also go on the road this year for the first time, with a 20-date tour set for next year.

For The Broadway Kids endeavor last season, six young Broadway veterans -- ranging in age from 7 to 15 -- performed a fully- choreographed, one-hour musical revue of numbers from such musicals as Les Miserables, Annie, The King & I, Bye Bye Birdie, and The Lion King. Twenty youngsters made up the rotating multi-racial, multi-ethnic company, with six at each performance.

Broadway Kids was conceived five years ago by NYC doctor, Julius Shulman -- whose son was appearing in Les Miz at the time. Since then, The Kids have recorded four albums and have appeared on numerous television shows, as well as live at the Goodwill Games, Gracie Mansion (the Mayor's residence) and The White House.

Last year's cast included: Jonathan Bleicher (Beauty and the Beast), Alex Bowen, Andrea Bowen (The Sound of Music), Jillian Bowen, Barry Cavanaugh, Tavia Jefferson, James Johnson, Alexandra Kiesman, Cassidy Ladden, Karina LaGravinese, Elizabeth Lundberg (Ragtime), Greg Raposo, Evan Silverberg, Christopher Trousdale (The Sound of Music), JJ Tucci, Brandon Uranowitz and Jenna Ushkowitz.
