In a statement creator Siegel said, "I'm very excited about matching up today's musical theater stars with the incredible music of Broadway circa 1970. The music from 1970 is one of the great collections of Broadway show tunes from any of the later years on the Great White Way and we intend to bring it all back to life. And we've got the cast to do it. Not only do they have talent to spare, as Melissa Errico said, 'I've also got 1970s hair.' They're a fun cast and if they are anything like the casts we've put together during this entire season, they’ll put on a spectacular show."
