News "Broadway on Broadway" Concert — Hosted by Hairspray's Bass — Presented Sept. 16 Former *NSYNC star Lance Bass, who is currently making his Broadway debut as Corny Collins in the Tony-winning musical Hairspray, hosts the annual "Broadway on Broadway" concert Sept. 16 in Times Square.

"It is an honor to be hosting this year's 'Broadway on Broadway,'" Bass said in a recent statement. "I love this great city, its people, and the Broadway fans – from New York, and around the world. I am both proud and excited to be part of this great event."

The free concert is scheduled to feature performances by Lea Salonga, Chazz Palminteri, Sierra Boggess, Debra Monk, Laura Osnes, Max Crumm, Adriane Lenox, Julia Murney, Beth Leavel, Carolee Carmello, Ashley Brown, Gavin Lee and Orfeh as well as 200 other Broadway actors from such productions as Avenue Q, Chicago, A Chorus Line, The Color Purple, Curtains, The Drowsy Chaperone, Grease, Hairspray, Jersey Boys, Legally Blonde: The Musical, Les Misérables, The Lion King, Mamma Mia!, Mary Poppins, Monty Python’s Spamalot, The Phantom of the Opera, Rent, The Little Mermaid, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and Wicked.

Presented by The League of American Theatres and Producers and the Times Square Alliance, the annual event will begin at 11:30 AM. Over 50,000 fans are expected to enjoy the concert that includes performances and/or appearances from stars of Broadway's musicals and plays. This year's concert also features the announcement of the winner of Broadway's Biggest Fan Competition. The Broadway Fan Zone also makes its debut at the Sept. 16 concert. The first 100 fans who arrive dressed as their favorite Broadway character will be able to enjoy the concert from a special VIP area located near the stage.

IMG Media, which packages and produces sports and live event television, is producing "Broadway on Broadway" for the first time.
