News Broadway Revival of Annie Offers Ticket Giveaway for Adopt-a-Dog Month The Tony Award-nominated Broadway revival of Annie is offering a ticket giveaway during the month of October in celebration of Adopt-a-Dog month. From Oct. 15-31, individuals who adopt a dog from a participating shelter around the city will receive a voucher for two tickets to see Annie in November, while supplies last.

Annie has partnered with a select number of shelters and rescue groups in NYC, all of which are members of the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals. Participating shelters include The Humane Society of NY, New York Animal Care & Control, Animal Haven, Sean Casey Animal Rescue and Louie's Legacy. More shelters will be announced via social media.

The production, which supports pet adoption, conducted a nationwide search with animal trainer and Tony Award winner Bill Berloni for a real-life shelter dog to play the role of Sandy. Sunny was picked from a Houston shelter to train for the role.

Additionally, in a dual effort to promote dog adoption and help provide shelters with resources, Annie teamed with Pedigree Brand for the "See the Show, Help a Dog" initiative. For each Annie ticket sold from debut through Dec. 31, Pedigree Brand is donating $2, up to $1 million, to Pedigree Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping dogs find loving homes. Co-branded merchandise is available both at Broadway's Palace Theatre, the home of Annie, and online, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting the foundation.

As previously announced, Annie will play its final performance on Broadway Jan. 5, 2014.

The musical features a book by Thomas Meehan, music by Charles Strouse and lyrics by Martin Charnin, with all three authors receiving 1977 Tony Awards for their work. Annie is directed by Pulitzer Prize and three-time Tony Award winner James Lapine and choreographed by Tony Award winner Andy Blankenbuehler. The production will launch a U.S. national tour in the 2014-15 season.

Annie stars Tony Award winner Faith Prince as Miss Hannigan, Anthony Warlow as Daddy Warbucks and 12-year-old Taylor Richardson as Annie.

The cast also includes Jenni Barber as Grace Farrell, Clarke Thorell as Rooster Hannigan, and J. Elaine Marcos as Lily St. Regis. The orphans are Amaya Braganza as July, Gaby Bradbury as Pepper, Tyrah Skye Odoms as Tessie, Emily Rosenfeld as Molly, Brooklyn Shuck as Kate, Sadie Sink as Duffy and Skye Alyssa Friedman as standby for the roles of Annie, Duffy, Pepper, July and Tessie. The production also features Jane Blass, Mary Callanan, Jeremy Davis, Merwin Foard, Joel Hatch, Tessa Grady, Danette Holden, Fred Inkley, Gavin Lodge, Alexandra Matteo, Shina Ann Morris, Keven Quillon, David Rossetti, Sarah Solie, Ryan VanDenBoom and Matt Wall.
