News Broadway Revival of Streetcar Named Desire Is Recipient of Actors' Equity Diversity Award The multi-ethnic Broadway revival of Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire is the recipient of Actors' Equity Association's Extraordinary Excellence in Diversity on Broadway Award for the 2011-12 season.

The Diversity Award will be presented at a reception prior to Equity's National Council Meeting at the Equity headquarters in New York City July 17.

The Award, presented by Equity’s Eastern Regional Equal Employment Opportunity Committee, "honors and encourages those who actively promote the goals of diversity, inclusion and equal opportunity for all who work in the theatre," according to press notes.

Streetcar stars Blair Underwood in the iconic role of Stanley, Nicole Ari Parker as Blanche, Daphne Rubin-Vega as Stella and Wood Harris as Mitch with Rosa Arredondo, Amelia Campbell, Carmen DeLavallade, Danielle Lee Greaves, J. Mallory-McCree, Aaron Clifton Moten, Morocco Omari, Jacino Taras Riddick, Matthew Saldívar and Count Stovall. 

The production is directed by Emily Mann with set design by Eugene Lee, lighting design by Edward Pierce, costume design by Paul Tazewell, sound design by Mark Bennett and choreography by Camille Brown.

The production is presented by Stephen Byrd, Alia Jones, Anthony Lacavera, BET Networks, Henry G. Jarecki, Simon Says Entertainment and Dancap Productions.
