The benefit was to include a concert, costume contest and dance party. A make-up date for the event has not been determined.

Ticket holders will be contacted directly and offered tickets to a rescheduled date, refunds or the opportunity to convert their tickets into a donation.

"As excited as we were for a phenomenal show, the safety of our audience, cast and volunteers takes precedent," said Broadway Cares producing director Michael Graziano in a statement. "The strength of approaching Hurricane Sandy, as well as this morning’s announcement of New York City’s mass transit service suspension, made it clear that postponement was the best option."

The concert was scheduled to feature Evita cast members Rachel Potter, Bradley Dean, Laurel Harris, Brad Little, Jessica Lea Patty and Daniel Torres as well as special guests Tony winner Alice Ripley, cast members from Bring It On: The Musical, the Broadway Boys and Marty Thomas and his Divas.

The evening, dedicated to late costume designer Martin Pakledinaz, was also scheduled to include post-concert costume contest for audience members.
