News Broadway Theatres Dim Lights for Actress and Arts Advocate Kitty Carlisle Hart, April 18 Broadway theatres will dim their lights April 18 in honor of the passing of stage and screen actress Kitty Carlisle Hart.

The lights of all Broadway marquees will dim for one minute at 8 PM ET. Hart passed away April 17. "Kitty Carlisle Hart was a tireless champion of the arts in New York state and nationally and a vital member of the Broadway family," said League of American Theatres and Producers executive director Charlotte St. Martin. "This great woman of the theatre — tireless in her lifelong crusade for the advancement of the arts in the public sphere — touched so many lives through her work. We will miss her."

Hart, who was married to Moss Hart, served as chairperson of the New York State Council of the Arts for 20 years.
