News Broadway to Dim Its Lights May 11 in Honor of Lena Horne The marquees of the Broadway theatres will be dimmed May 11 at 7 PM for one minute to pay tribute to the late singer-actress Lena Horne, who died May 9 at the age of 92.

Charlotte St. Martin, executive director of The Broadway League, stated, "Lena Horne was a national treasure who broke through racial barriers with the gift of her voice. Her contributions to Broadway were bright, and her legendary talent contributed significantly to the movie musical genre."
