News Broadway to Dim Its Lights Nov. 25 in Honor of Late Gerald Schoenfeld The marquees of the Broadway theatres will be dimmed Nov. 25 at 7 PM for one minute to pay tribute to the late Shubert Organization Chairman Gerald Schoenfeld, who died Nov. 25 at his home in Manhattan.

In a statement Charlotte St. Martin, executive director of The Broadway League, said, "Our hearts go out to the Schoenfeld family and to the Shubert family of employees. This legendary leader in the Broadway industry was also a champion of arts education and a tireless advocate for the improvement of New York City's Theatre District. Few others have had as profound impact on the history of the American theatre. We will miss him." Mr. Schoenfeld, a man routinely referred to as the most powerful man on Broadway, died suddenly at the age of 84.
