News Broadway Vets Flock to Milwaukee Rep's Color Purple Milwaukee Repertory Theater's The Color Purple has announced casting – including former Purple Broadway cast members Zonya Love and Nathaniel Stampley, and national tour member Allyson Kaye Daniel – for their production set to open Sept. 26.

Directed by artistic director Mark Clements, the production will boast a cast of 25.

Also featured are Broadway talents Gilbert L. Bailey II (The Book of Mormon), Darryl Reuben Hall (Godspell), Stephanie Umoh (Ragtime) and Vanessa A. Jones-DuBose (The Lion King).

The rest of the cast includes Christina Acosta Robinson, Alexis J. Rogers, Leonard E. Sullivan, Melody Betts, Jonathan Butler-Duplessis, Carl Clemons-Hopkins, Jessie Hooker, Malkia Stampley, Bethany Thomas, India Gurley, Turean Hogan, Jennifer Latimore, Vallea E. Woodbury, Izayah Briggs, Nya, Esther O’Brien, Maya O’Day-Biddle, Zuri McGowan, Chantae Miller and Braylen Stevens.

Milwaukee Rep bills the show as follows, "Director Clements will reunite with his creative team to bring the hit musical based on Alice Walker’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel to life on the Quadracci Powerhouse stage. This is an unforgettable story of a woman who triumphs over adversity and discovers her own unique voice. Featuring a Grammy-nominated score with jazz, ragtime, gospel and blues music."
