News Broadway's Anne Frank, Natalie Portman, at Center of "Brothers" Film Love Triangle Natalie Portman will join Tobey Maguire and Jake Gyllenhaal in the upcoming film "Brothers," reports Variety.

Jim Sheridan ("In America," "In the Name of the Father") will direct the love-triangle drama for Relativity Media from a David Benioff ("25th Hour," "The Kite Runner") script. Shooting is scheduled to begin in early November. "Brothers," according to the trade mag, "centers on a man (Maguire) who is sent to fight in Afghanistan while his black-sheep brother (Gyllenhaal) cares for his wife (Portman) and child." The film is based on the Susanne Bier 2004 foreign film "Brødre."

Portman starred on Broadway in the title role of the 1997 revival of The Diary of Anne Frank that was staged by James Lapine. She also appeared in the Public Theater's starry 2001 summer staging of The Seagull. Portman is known for her film work in "Closer," "V for Vendetta," "Garden State," "Heat," the "Star Wars" films, "The Professional," "Cold Mountain" and the current film "The Darjeeling Limited."
