All but the groom have been announced for the company of the marriage-minded musical (based on the Paddy Chayefsky TV film and movie) that stars Fierstein, Tom Wopat and Faith Prince.

Joining the previously announced Tony winner Faith Prince (as mother of the bride), Tony nominee Tom Wopat (as father of the bride), four-time Tony winner Harvey Fierstein (as uncle of the bride) and Leslie Kritzer (as the bride) will be Philip Hoffman, Katie Klaus, Heather MacRae, Lori Wilner and Kristine Zbornik.

The actor playing the groom has not yet been announced, nor has the full creative team.

Prior to Broadway, A Catered Affair will inaugurate the 2007-8 Season at San Diego's Old Globe Theatre (performances begin Sept. 20, 2007), according to producer Jordan Roth (vice president, Jujamcyn Theaters).

Philip Hoffman's Broadway credits include Fiddler on the Roof and Ring Round the Moon, and he is also a veteran of the original casts of Into the Woods, Baby, Is There Life After High School? and Falsettos. Katie Klaus most recently appeared in the Broadway revival of Inherit the Wind and earlier this year as Young Sally in the lauded New York City Center Encores! presentation of Follies. Heather MacRae's Broadway credits include Dr. Charlotte in Falsettos, Coastal Disturbances and the original cast of Hair. Lori Wilner appeared opposite Fierstein's Tevye as Golde in the recent revival of Fiddler on the Roof. Kristine Zbornik is revered for her many classic comic turns in Forbidden Broadway and her own nightclub act. Director John Doyle won a Tony for his direction of Sweeney Todd in 2006, and was nominated for a Best Direction (Musical) Tony in 2007 for Company, which won the Tony for Best Revival of a Musical.

According to press notes, "Funny, heartbreaking and oh so human, A Catered Affair reveals relationships strained to their limits when a couple must decide whether to spend their life savings on a family business or to launch their only daughter's marriage with a lavish catered affair. Harvey Fierstein's book and John Bucchino's score seize the opportunity to explore the meaning of family and the need for love, both new and reawakened."

The musical is based on the Turner Entertainment motion picture distributed by Warner Brothers and written by Gore Vidal, and the original teleplay by Paddy Chayefsky.

A Catered Affair will be produced on Broadway by Jujamcyn Theaters, Jordan Roth, Harvey Entertainment/Ron Fierstein, Richie Jackson and Daryl Roth.
