News Broadway's Chaplin Will Lean On Christiane Noll, Erin Mackey, Michael McCormick, Jenn Colella; Cast Announced The producers of Chaplin, the new Broadway musical about the life of screen legend Charlie Chaplin, have broken their silence about casting.

Joining the previously announced Rob McClure in the title role will be principals Jim Borstelmann as Alf Reeves, Jenn Colella as Hedda Hopper, Erin Mackey as Oona O'Neill, Michael McCormick as Sennett/ McGranery/Emcee, Christiane Noll as Hannah Chaplin, Zachary Unger as Young Charlie/Jackie and Wayne Alan Wilcox as Sydney Chaplin.

Previews for the musical by Christopher Curtis and Thomas Meehan begin Aug. 21 at the Barrymore Theatre.

The production will also include Justin Bowen, Emilee Dupré, Sara Edwards, Leslie Donna Flesner, Lisa Gajda, Timothy Hughes, Ethan Khusidman, Ian Liberto, Renée Marino, Michael Mendez, Sarah O'Gleby, Hayley Podschun, Adam Rogers, William Ryall, Eric Santagata and Emily Tyra.

Warren Carlyle (Finian's Rainbow, Hugh Jackman Back on Broadway) directs and choreographs Chaplin. The full creative team will be announced soon.

Music and lyrics are by Curtis; the book is by three-time Tony Award winner Thomas Meehan (Annie, The Producers, Hairspray) and Curtis. Opening night is Sept. 10. Here's how producers characterize the show: "From the slums of London to the heights of Hollywood, Chaplin is the showbiz Broadway musical about the silent film legend the world couldn't stop talking about — Charlie Chaplin. The brand new 24-person musical reveals the man behind the legend, the undeniable genius that forever changed the way America went to the movies."

Chaplin will be produced on Broadway by the Rich Entertainment Group, Roy Gabay, and John and Claire Caudwell, with additional producers to be announced. Rich/Caudwell also co-produced last season's productions of Jesus Christ Superstar and Leap of Faith.

McClure originated the role of Chaplin at La Jolla Playhouse (Craig Noel Award winner). Most recently in New York, he starred in the title role of Where's Charley? for City Center Encores! A two-time Barrymore Award winner, he appeared on Broadway as Princeton/Rod in the Tony Award-winning musical Avenue Q. He made his Broadway debut in the 2002 Broadway revival of I'm Not Rappaport with Judd Hirsch and Ben Vereen.

Noll is a Tony Award nominee for playing Mother in the Broadway revival of Ragtime; Mackey recently played Hope in Broadway's Anything Goes; McCormick was in Broadway's Curtains; Borstelmann is a Chicago veteran; Colella is now in Off-Broadway's Closer Than Ever and starred in Broadway's Urban Cowboy and High Fidelity; child actor Unger, of the Encores! Merrily We Roll Along, is making his Broadway debut; Wilcox appeared in Broadway's Coram Boy, The Normal Heart and Priscilla Queen of the Desert.
