The new musical based on the lives of Gloria and Emilio Estefan will release its original Broadway cast album April 29 on the Masterworks Broadway label.

Instead of going into a studio, the sizzling Broadway musical recorded its cast album live during the March 2 matinee and evening performances.

The jukebox musical opened on Broadway Nov. 5 at the Marquis Theatre. Box office sales have been strong for the production that is packed with Estefan’s chart-topping hits including “Conga,” “Rhythm Is Gonna Get You,” “1-2-3,” “Get On Your Feet,” “Don’t Want To Lose You Now,” and one original song, “If I Never Got To Tell You,” written by Gloria and her daughter Emily.

Ana Villafañe and Josh Segarra co-star as Gloria and Emilio Estefan, respectively. The musical is directed by of two-time Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell with choreography by Drama Desk nominee and Olivier Award winner Sergio Trujillo. It has a book by Academy Award winner Alexander Dinelaris.
