The departure date of Laura Linney, Brian d'Arcy James, Eric Bogosian and Christina Ricci was previously announced, but not the closing date. There had been some discussion of recasting or further extension, but that did not become a reality.
Pulitzer Prize winner Margulies (Dinner With Friends, Sight Unseen) and director Daniel Sullivan got solid reviews for their work. Linney was Tony-nominated as Best Actress in spring 2010, when the play emerged at Manhattan Theatre Club's Broadway home, the Samuel J. Friedman. It also earned a Best Play nomination. A commercial run at the Cort (with Ricci new to the cast) began again in September, after a hiatus.
By Jan. 30, the 2010-11 run will have played 16 preview performances and 126 regular performances.
Time Stands Still follows Sarah and James (Laura Linney and Brian d’Arcy James), a photojournalist and a foreign correspondent trying to find happiness after being scarred, physically and emotionally, covering conflicts in the Middle East.
Star Linney (of the new TV series "The Big C") was also nominated as Best Actress by the Drama Desk Awards, The Outer Critics Circle Awards and the Drama League.
