Tazewell Thompson, the former artistic director of the Westport Country Playhouse, helms the family drama that will run through Oct. 24.

The cast features Gina Daniels, Frank Faucette, Royce Johnson and David Pegram.

Broke-ology made its debut at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in 2009. The play received its New York debut at Lincoln Center Theater's Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater in the fall of 2009.

Designing the production are Luke Hegel-Cantarella (set design), Harry Nadal (costume design), Greg Goff (lighting design) and Fabian Obispo (sound design).

Here's how TheaterWorks bills the play: "In Broke-ology, the King family has weathered life's hardships, surviving with their love for each other intact. William King lives in the house in which his two sons grew up. He's alone, but maintains his allegiance with their mother in his own way. When the brothers are called home to take care of him, they find themselves strangely at odds."

Jackson's plays also include When I Come to Die, The Mancherios and The Last Black Play.

Tickets to Broke-ology at TheaterWorks, 233 Pearl Street in Hartford, CT, are available by calling (860) 527-7838.
