News Brooks' A Splintered Soul Set for L.A.'s Odyssey Theatre A Splintered Soul, Alan Lester Brooks' new play about survivors of the Nazi regime living in San Francisco after World War II, goes up at the Odyssey Theatre in Los Angeles from Jan. 12-Feb. 25.

Brantley M. Dunaway directs and Judy Arnold produces the guest production at the Odyssey. The cast includes Cyrus Alexander, Evan Arnold, Nick Cagle, Cheryl David, Maggie Eilertson, Stephen Macht, Lawence Novikoff, Bruce Nozick, Carolyn Palmer, Julia Silverman, Amanda Troop and Libby West.

According to press notes, "Following the aftershock of the Second Great War, San Francisco’s Jewish community becomes a safe harbor for survivors of the Nazi regime. It is there we meet Rabbi Kroeller and a group of morally starved refugees as they seek to define their existence in this new tidy post-war America. A Splintered Soul explores the shades of grey between justice and mercy; the answers to which become shrouded in innocence and betrayal."

Set design is by Tom Giamario, lighting design is by Jacob Welch and costume design is by Shon Le Blanc.

Brooks is a retired physician and has been developing the play for five year at such places as First Stage in Hollywood and the New Frontiers Playwriting Festival in Valdez, AK.

Arnold's Broadway producing credits include Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks and Bombay Dreams. The Odyssey Theatre is located at 2055 S. Sepulveda Blvd. in Los Angeles. For tickets call (310) 477-2055 or visit www.odysseytheatre.com.
