News Bruce Turk, Sean Mahan, Katie MacNichol Among Cast of Shakespeare Theatre's Measure for Measure in NJ The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey will present William Shakespeare's comedic drama Measure for Measure beginning Aug. 8, prior to an official opening Aug. 11, at the F.M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre in Madison, NJ.

Directed by Shakespeare Theatre artistic director Bonnie J. Monte, the cast includes Bruce Turk (The Green Bird, Juan Darien) as the Duke of Vienna, Erin Partin (Shakespeare Theatre's Twelth Night) as Isabella, Sean Mahan ("Rescue Me") as Angelo, James Knight as Claudio, Greg Jackson (The 39 Steps) as Lucio, Raphael Nash Thompson (Shakespeare Theatre's Henry V) as Pompey, Lindsay Smiling (Othello at Shakespeare Theatre) as Provost, Richard Bourg (Shakespeare Theatre's The Comedy of Errors) as Escalus and Katie MacNichol (The Green Bird, Two Shakespearean Actors) as Mariana.

Rounding out the cast are Craig Bazan, Adam Burns, Rachel Fox, Darren Matthias, Brandt Roberts, Julia Skeggs, Ben Sterling, Michael Striano and Jean Walker.

Here's how the Shakespeare Theatre describes the work: "This mercurial masterpiece could have been written just yesterday. Shakespeare's dark comedy — a provocative mix of humor and intrigue — is an age-old tale of scandal, abuse of power and what happens when repression and profligacy get equally out of balance. It is a story for all times and its contemporary relevance is provocative and palpable."

Other members of the creative team are set designers Bonnie J. Monte and Brian Ruggaber, costume designer Paul Canada, lighting designer Steve Rosen, sound designer Karin Graybash and production stage manager Christine Whalen.

The Shakespeare Theatre will offer three Symposium Series performances, which include a post-play discussion with the cast and artistic staff, Aug. 14 at 7:30 PM and Aug. 18 and 25 at 2 PM. The F.M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre is located at 36 Madison Avenue (at Lancaster Road) in Madison, NJ. For more information and tickets, call (973) 408-5600 or visit ShakespeareNJ.org.
