James O'Neil directs Wendy Kesselman's adaptation of the 1955 Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett, based on Frank's famed Holocaust diary. The cast also includes Karyl Lynn Burns (Mrs. Frank) and Lauren Patten (Anne Frank). More casting is to be announced.

Scenic and lighting design is by Thomas Giamario, and costume design is by Alex Jaeger.

Weitz was nominated for an Emmy six times for "Hill Street Blues" and won once. He also received one nomination each for the ABC miniseries "Baby M" and the NBC series "Midnight Caller." He has appeared on Broadway playing both Biff and Happy in Death of a Salesman opposite George C. Scott and playing Brisby in The Basic Training of Pavlo Hummel opposite Al Pacino. His other stage credits include Thieves; Norman, Is That You?; Frankie and Johnnie in the Claire du Lune; and Light up the Sky. His films credits include "Deep Impact."

Purl's stage credits include the Broadway productions of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Getting and Spending and numerous L.A. and regional productions. Her television credits include a stint as Fonzie's fiancee Ashley Pfister on "Happy Days" and as Charlene Matlock on "Matlock." Her film credits include "Mighty Joe Young."
