Batt, the two-time Screen Actors Guild winner for his performance as Salavatore Romano in "Mad Men," will bring his show Batt on a Hot Tin Roof to London, beginning performances Aug. 5 for a run through Aug. 10. According to press materials, it is a "show born out of Hurricane Katrina. Batt grew up in New Orleans, and the city fostered his love of music and theatre. After experiencing the flooding and devastation of his hometown, he put together a one-man cabaret show paying tribute to his life there." The show features both Broadway songs and original material written for him.
His New York stage appearances include Forbidden Broadway, Jeffrey, Beauty and the Beast, Cats, Starlight Express, Sunset Boulevard, La Cage aux Folles and The Scarlet Pimpernel.
Mason will make her U.K. debut in Right Here, Right Now, beginning performances Aug. 20 for a run through Aug. 24, featuring songs by Kander and Ebb, Leonard Bernstein, Comden and Green, and a pantheon of the great theatre songwriters of the past.
Winner of the MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabaret) Award for Major Female Vocalist of the Year for six consecutive years, her Broadway credits include The Queen of Hearts in Wonderland and originating the role of Tanya in Mamma Mia! She has shared concert stages with Michael Feinstein, Jerry Herman, Chita Rivera, Luciano Pavarotti, Rosemary Clooney, Liza Minnelli, and Kander & Ebb, among others. She is accompanied by Mark Hummel on piano.
Also appearing at Crazy Coqs in August will be Sophie-Louise Dann (July 30-Aug. 3), who recently starred as Dot in Sunday in the Park with George at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, in a show entitled From Classic… to Coward… to Current. She will be accompanied by James Church on piano. British Jazz singer Claire Martin will join forces with singer-songwriter Joe Stilgoe in Something Old, Something New (Aug. 13-17), bringing together their love of the Great American Songbook in reworkings of classics by Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Noel Coward, Harold Arlen and Rodgers and Hart, and showcasing Stilgoe's original material.
