Produced by Bill Coyne, the evening benefits ZARA AINA, a charity founded by 2014 Tony nominee Bryce Pinkham and Lucas Caleb Rooney that brings theatre and education to at-risk youth in Madagascar.
"I have paired 15 composers with 15 singers they have never worked with," Coyne told previously Playbill.com. "Out of a musical theatre blind-date where the pairs discuss their strengths and weaknesses, passions, fears, the composers write a song specifically for and inspired by the singer; with the intention of reaching new artistic territory."
Composers include Anna K. Jacobs, Tom Kenaston, Nathan Dame, Joel B. New, Xander Green, Kate Steinberg, Michael R. Jackson, David Alan Thornton, Caleb Damschroder, Andre Catrini, Joel Waggoner, Lauren Marcus, Brandon James Gwinn, Mike Pettry, Nick Luckenbaugh and Tom Paitson Kelly.
Their work is interpreted by Bryce Pinkham, Shina Ann Morris, Deborah Grausman, Tyrone B. Davis, Beth Kuhn, Lindsie Van Winkle, Liz Lark Brown, Max Chernin, Matthew Schatz, Whitney Maris Brown, Lisa Beth Birnbaum, Chris Ware, Ryan Speakman, Alyse Alan Louis and Nick Gaswirth.
