Directed by Emily Mann, the Harold Pinter opus will begin previews Sept. 8 and will play through Oct. 15. The cast comprises Barbara Bryne, Dennis Creaghan, Allan Corduner, Randall Newsome, Charlotte Parry and Henry Stram.
The Birthday Party premiered in 1958 at London's Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith. The play, according to press notes, is a "study of menace and mystery [set] in a shabby English boarding house."
The creative team for the McCarter production also includes Eugene Lee (set design), Jennifer von Mayrhauser (costume design) and Jeff Croiter (lighting design).
The Birthday Party will play Tuesday-Thursday evenings at 7:30 PM, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM with matinees Saturdays at 3 PM and Sundays at 2 PM.
