Playbill On-Line has learned that the Writers Guild of America has forged a deal with film and television producers that will be announced from the West Coast soon. This means there will be no writers’ strike, as had been feared for months.
A Guild spokesperson told Playbill On-Line (May 4) that preliminary information suggests that writers gained improvements in residuals, pay increases and the “uncapping of foreign residuals.”
