News   Busy Plummer Not Transferring with Summer and Smoke for NJ Run
Though just announced to star in the upcoming Hartford Stage run of Tennessee Williams' Summer and Smoke, Amanda Plummer will not be headlining the co-production's stint at New Jersey's Paper Mill Playhouse.

The actress is already committed to a run of Lynn Redgrave's Shakespeare with My Father at Montreal's Saidye Bronfman Center for the Arts, Feb. 4-25, 2007. The Paper Mill run of Summer and Smoke plays Jan. 10-Feb. 11, 2007.

Staged by artistic director Michael Wilson, the Williams work runs at the Connecticut stage Aug. 31-Oct. 1. The show officially opens Sept. 8.

Joining Plummer in the ensemble will be Terry Beaver, Jennifer Harmon, Nafe Katter, Stephanie Beatriz, Mateo Gomez, Marta Reiman, Johanna Morrison, Bill Kux, Curtis Billings, Elizabeth Capinera and John Ort. Casting for the NJ run is yet to be announced.

The design team will feature Tony Straiges (set), David Woolard (costumes), Rui Rita (lighting) and John Gromada (sound). Max Williams serves as assistant director and Elizabeth Maloney as production stage manager.

Plummer — who appeared in Hartford Stage's 8 by Tenn — is known for her off-kilter film portrayals in "Pulp Fiction," "So I Married an Axe Murderer" and "The Fisher King." The actress has been nominated for a Tony in the Broadway productions of A Taste of Honey, Pygmalion and Agnes of God — winning for the latter.
