Grove Theater Center, the six-year-old Equity company in Garden Grove, CA, will stage the premiere Oct. 11-29 as part of the 2000 season.

The production, at GTC's Gem Theater, will feature the imported English talent of Jennette Lewis. The play promises "to challenge the borders of good taste in the name of a good laugh," according to the company's season announcement.

GTC operates on a calendar-year schedule at two spaces, the GTC Gem Theater and the GTC Festival Amphitheater at 12852 Main St. in Garden Grove, CA,in Orange County.

The 2000 season also includes Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit (March 1-19 at the Gem); The Beckett Project, thee one-acts by Samuel Beckett (April 7-8 at the Gem); the one-woman performance, Girly Show, with comic actress Denise Moses (April 26-May 14 in the Gem); Paul Rudnick's I Hate Hamlet (June 7-18 at the Festival Amphitheater); a visit by Troubadour Theater Company (July 7-14 at the Festival Amphitheater) and GTC's staging of Hamlet (Aug. 16-26 at the Festival Amphitheater). *

For the Beckett shows, Patricia Boyette (who last appeared with GTC in Pieces of the Sky and Talley's Folly) will tackle Not I and Rockaby while Phillip Zarrilli performs Act Without Words. The evening is co-directed by Zarrilli with close consultation by Billie Whitelaw, the acclaimed actress for whom Beckett wrote Not I and Rockaby.

Girly Show will make its Orange County debut at GTC. Comedian and actress Denise Moses (last seen at GTC as Mrs. Zero in The Adding Machine and Wanda Harrington in California Schemin') creates Miss Donita, the world's oldest kindergarten teacher (and her hand-puppet, Mr. Pussy); Beverly, the video dating addict; Aunt Marie and her commemorative plate collection depicting Biblical plagues.

Troubadour's potential spoof titles include Macbeth with Fries, Roswell that Ends Well and Titus for Tots!
