Perhaps a few of your favorite things this gift-giving season will be the songs on a new CD about to be recorded by the nuns of Broadway's The Sound Of Music. According to a spokesperson at Cromarty & Co. (reached Oct. 23), Rebecca Luker and Patti Cohenour will take part in the recording, as will the children in the revival, now at the Martin Beck Theatre. The Huckleberry Records CD will feature holiday standards and possibly Broadway / Sound of Music tunes, too. (The Cromarty spokesperson noted the producers received permission from the Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization to do some R&H numbers.) Lynn Pinto, one of the nuns, apparently came up with the idea and convinced the other habit-ues to join in.

The CD (which record label is still unclear) will sell for $20, with proceeds benefiting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
