The Celebration Theatre in West Hollywood, CA will launch its Celebration of Lesbian Theatre Initiative with the world premiere of two one-act plays. The eight-week engagement starts previews Oct. 29 and opens Nov. 2.

The first of this pair of new plays is Conversations with Lola by Patti R. Miller, a romantic comedy that explores the relationship between two women who could be more than just close friends. Valsetz, by Pamela Forrest, tells the story of a young and successful film producer who finds emotional support in the most unlikely of places: Valsetz, Oregon, population: 1.

Gillian Brashear will direct an experienced regional cast which includes Sabrina Artel, Joanna Daniels, Marian Jones, and Patricia Place.

The Initiative seeks to celebrate the lesbian and gay culture while providing a forum for area writers, directors, designers, and performers.

Conversations with Lola and Valsetz will run in the Celebration Theatre through Dec. 22. For tickets or more information, call (213) 857-8085, or refer to the regional listings on Playbill On-Line. -- By Jackie Mastropolo
