Cabaret makes its debut at the Prince Music Theater's new venue in Philadelphia this season with Christine Andreas singing the launch show of the Cabaret at the Prince series, Nov. 29.

Three of the musical theatre's leading ladies will inaugurate the series, which marks the Prince's return as a showcase for the popular art form. From 1990 to 1997 the Prince presented cabaret evenings at the AMTF Cabaret at the Hotel Atop the Bellevue. The new series will take place UpStairs at the Prince in the Independence Foundation Black Box.

The Scarlet Pimpernel's Christine Andreas opens the series Nov. 29 with 10 performances of her critically acclaimed Here's to the Ladies act, which pays tribute to such musical theatre luminaries as Mary Martin, Ethel Merman, Julie Andrews, Gertrude Lawrence and Barbara Cook. Among the songs Andreas will interpret are "I Could Have Danced All Night," "A Wonderful Guy" and "My Heart Belongs to Daddy," all of which can also be found on her new PS Classics release, which is also titled "Here's to the Ladies." Andreas is a two-time Tony Award nominee for her work in Oklahoma! and On Your Toes; she will perform at the Prince through Dec. 15.

Tony Award winner Faith Prince will bring her solo show, Leap of Faith, to the Prince on Feb. 5-16, 2003. The current star of Lincoln Center's A Man of No Importance will perform such tunes as "If I Were a Bell," "Adelaide's Lament," "Something Wonderful" and many other theatrical songs. A Tony Award winner for her role as Adelaide in the revival of Guys and Dolls, Prince has also starred on Broadway in The King and I and Bells Are Ringing.

Three-time Tony Award nominee Judy Kuhn is the final offering in the Prince cabaret series. Kuhn debuted her solo act this season during Lincoln Center's American Songbook Series. The New York Times described Kuhn's show as "revelatory." She will perform at the Prince May 7- 18. Among the songs cabaretgoers can expect to hear Kuhn interpret are "All I Want," "Any Place I Hang My Hat Is Home," "Come Rain or Come Shine," "Baby Moon" and "And When I Die." Kuhn, who starred in this summer's mounting of Passion at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, received Tony nominations for her performances in She Loves Me, Chess and Les Misérables. Tickets for Cabaret at the Prince range from $23 to $28. For more information, call UpStages at (215) 569-9700 or visit www.princemusictheater.org.
