News Cabaret Star Wesla Whitfield Releases New CD, "In My Life," Coinciding With NYC Engagement Jan. 11-23 Wesla Whitfield, the smooth vocalist who sings show tunes and pop standards on her home turf in San Francisco, as well as rooms on the East Coast, has released a new CD on the High Note label.

The new disc coincides with a gig by Whitfield at Manhattan's Le Jazz Au Bar Jan. 11-23. The new show, Pure Imagination: Songs for the New Year, plays 7:30 PM Tuesday-Sunday and 10 PM Friday-Saturday. For reservations, call (212) 308-9424.

Once again working with her musical director husband, Mike Greensill, Whitfield sings an eclectic mix of songs on the 15-track disc "In My Life."

Arrangements are by Greensill, who is heard on piano. John Wiitala is on bass. All three appear in the Manhattan engagement.

"In My Life" includes "Tea for Two," "I Have Dreamed," Lennon and McCartney's "In My Life," "When the Children Are Asleep," "Where Is Love?," "A Beautiful Friendship," "Autumn in New York," "Street of Dreams," "In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning," "Young and Foolish," "Wrap Your Troubles in Dreams," "You Don't Know What Love Is," "I'll Be Tired of You" and "Some Other Time."
