KC Rep artistic director Eric Rose, who also staged the world premiere of A Christmas Story: The Musical!, helms the environmental production of Cabaret that began previews March 18 and will continue through April 10. Anthony T. Edwards musical directs with choreography by Richard J. Hinds.
Elder, who recently starred in the Broadway-aimed Frank Wildhorn musical Bonnie & Clyde, is Clifford Bradshaw, with Lindsay (Little House on the Prairie at the Guthrie) as Sally Bowles and Sills (The Lion King) as the Emcee.
The cast also features veteran regional actress Hollis Resnik (Grey Gardens, The Light in the Piazza) as Fräulein Schneider, Gary Neal Johnson as Herr Schultz, Vanessa Severo as Fräulein Kost, KC Comeaux as Bobby, Charles Fugate as Ernst Ludwig, Bryan LaFave as Victor, as well as Jenny Florkowski, Colleen Grate, Mandy Morris, Kym Chambers Otto and Emily Shackelford as the Kit Kat Klub Girls.
Cabaret features a book by Joe Masteroff, based on the John Van Druten play "I Am a Camera" and the original stories by Christopher Isherwood. John Kander and Fred Ebb penned the Tony-Award winning score to the musical that features such hits as "Willkommen," "So What," "Don't Tell Mama" and the title song.
