Actress/comedian Sandra Bernhard is scheduled to host the 8th Annual "Broadway Bares" event, May 10 in New York, to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
Bernhard, whose one-woman Off-Broadway shows include the recent "I'm Still Here, Dammit!," will host the event in which more than 100 scantily clad performers from the choruses of current Broadway and Off-Broadway shows perform dances and bawdy, burlesque-style comedy. This year's event is subtitled "Peep Show," and willgive a nod to the world of Mother Goose.
Celebrities expected to take part in the Broadway Bares event include Alan Cumming (who briefly bares his butt in Cabaret), Debbie Gravitte, Billy Porter (Grease) and Deborah Gibson (Beauty and the Beast).
The event was conceived, directed and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell.
"Broadway Bares: Peep Show" will give two performances, 9 PM and midnight, Sunday, May 10, at Webster Hall in N.Y. Benefactor ($250) and VIP ($100) tickets are already sold out (as of Apr. 29), but there are still general admission tickets available at $35.
