News Cabaret's Shindle Celebrates Lowdermilk in July 18 Concert The Duplex Cabaret Theatre's Broadway Downtown series will continue July 18 with Cabaret's Kate Shindle.

The former Miss America (1998) will perform the songs of Brian Lowdermilk during her 7 PM concert. A composer, lyricist, music director, arranger, vocal coach and pianist, Lowdermilk has composed the musicals The Woman Upstairs, RED and The Unauthorized Autobiography of Samantha Brown. Singer-actress Kate Shindle earned the title of Miss America in 1998. She portrayed Sally Bowles in the Roundabout revival of Cabaret and also appeared on Broadway as Lucy in Jekyll & Hyde. She took part in the all-star benefit concerts of Children of Eden and Pippin, and her other theatrical credits include A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Woman Upstairs, After the Fall, Himself and Nora, First Lady Suite, The Mousetrap, The Last Five Years, Gypsy and Into the Woods. Shindle has been seen on screen in "The Stepford Wives" and "As the World Turns."

The Broadway Downtown series presents Broadway performers in an intimate cabaret venue. Among those who have taken part in the series are Judy Blazer, Kristy Cates, Darius DeHaas, Barrett Foa, Karen Mason, Sally Mayes, Christiane Noll and Barbara Walsh.
