The Magnet Theatre presents the Improv Festival, running Nov. 12-13, which highlights the work of musical improvisation groups from across the country. A special Nov. 14 benefit performance has been added to benefit Gilda's Club New York City, which serves individuals living with cancer.
The 7:30 PM benefit will feature Huffman (The Producers, Will Rogers Follies) and Orfeh (Legally Blonde), who will be joined by Kate Pazakis (Jerry Springer: The Opera), Jill Bernard's Drum Machine, and the comedy troupe Generation G, which includes Tara Copeland, Jill Bernard, Jess Elaina Eason, Colleen McHugh, Desiree Nash and Ashley Ward.
Scheduled to participate in the NY Musical Improv Festival's Nov.12-13 programming are Baby Wants Candy (Chicago/NYC), Choral Rage (NYC), Diamond Lion (NYC), FACE (NYC), Generation G (NYC), Jill Bernard’s Drum Machine (Minneapolis), The Made Up Musical (NYC), Miracle Baby (NYC), North Coast! (NYC), Reset List: An Improvised Rock Experience (Chicago), Trudy Carmichael’s Musical Mixer (Las Vegas/NYC), VEAL (NYC), Vox Pop (Washington, D.C.) and Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson cast member Jeff Hiller with his Dream Team (NYC).
The Nov. 14 benefit will take place at the Helen Mills Theater located at 139 W. 26th Street. All regular NY Improv Festival programming will take place at the Magnet Theatre, located at 254 W. 29th Street in Manhattan.
