News Caesar's Cromwell Is Scrooge in McCarter Theatre's 25th Anniversary A Christmas Carol David Cromwell, recently seen as Cicero in the Denzel Washington revival of Julius Caesar, will return as Ebenezer Scrooge for the McCarter Theatre's upcoming 25th anniversary production of A Christmas Carol.

Michael Unger will direct the Charles Dickens holiday classic, which plays the New Jersey theatre Dec. 4-24. Opening night is scheduled for Dec. 9. Cromwell will be joined onstage by Nick Toren as Nephew Fred, Price Waldman as Bob Cratchit, Susan Pellegrino as Mrs. Dilber, Anne O'Sullivan as Mrs. Fezziwig, Susan Knight as Mrs. Cratchit, Garrett Long as Fan, Count Stovall as Mr. Fezziwig, Simon Kendall as Young Scrooge, Peter Cambor as Marley, Cherise Boothe as Christmas Present and Angela Lin as Lily and Belle. The Christmas Carol creative team will include Ming Cho Lee (set design), Jess Goldstein (costume design) and Rob Ashford (choreography).

On Broadway David Cromwell has been seen in Julius Caesar, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Me and My Girl, The Mystery of Edwin Drood and A History of the American Film. The actor has also appeared in the McCarter Theatre's productions of Romeo and Juliet and The School for Scandal.
