The Playwrights Theater of New York and O'Neill at Yale will host a ten-day roster of free events, Jan. 4-13, at New York University's Provincetown Playhouse in honor of the 2007 O'Neill Festival — which hits the decade mark this year.

The Festival kicks off with a week-long retrospective of the O'Neill's plays that were adapted for the big screen. The event will also feature post-film forums, live readings and music performances.

The line-up of film screenings, readings and more follows:

  • Jan. 4 (7 PM) - "Long Day's Journey Into Night" screening
    O'Neill Festival artistic director Stephen Kennedy Murphy moderates a post-screening discussion with actress Kathleen Chalfant.
  • Jan. 5 (7 PM) - "Ah, Wilderness!" screening
    Post-screening discussion with Irish Repertory Theatre artistic director Charlotte Moore.
  • Jan. 6 (7 PM) - "The Hairy Ape" screening
    Post-screening discussion with the director and star of the recent Irish Rep Hairy Ape revival, Ciaran O'Reilly and Greg Derellian.
  • Jan. 7 (7 PM) - "The Long Voyage Home" screening
    Post-screening discussion with recent revival director Ed Berkeley.
  • Jan. 8 (7 PM) - "The Iceman Cometh" screening
    Post-screening discussion with Circle in the Square artistic director Theodore Mann.
  • Jan. 9 (7 PM) - "Anna Christie" screening
    Post-screening discussion with actress Natasha Richardson.
  • Jan. 10 (7 PM) - "A Moon for the Misbegotten" screening
  • Jan. 11 (7:30 PM) - O'Neill: Playwright and his Mother
    Tony winners Zoe Caldwell and Marian Seldes perform excerpts from plays featuring matriarchs. Post-reading discussion with O'Neill scholar Barbara Gelb.
  • Jan. 12 (7:30 PM) - The O'Neill Ragtime Revue
    Cabaret stars Steve Ross, KT Sullivan and actor Kristoffer Polaha sing the songs heard in The Iceman Cometh and Ah, Wilderness! Charles Durning and the voices of Yale University's The Society of Orpheus and Bacchus ("The S.O.B.s") will also be featured.
  • Jan. 13 (2 PM) - The O'Neill Variations
    O'Neill-inspired new works, including a reading of a newly commissioned play by Amy Herzog and productions of new plays by Lauren Yee and Janet Silva, as performed by Playwrights Theater's company of Yale alumni.
  • Jan. 13 (7:30 PM) - The O'Neill Festival Series
    Charles Durning, David Margulies, Brian Murray and Harris Yulin perform the O'Neill works, both set at sea, In The Zone and Ile. to conclude the festival.
