News Camp Broadway "Dance Track" Offered to High-Kicking Kids; Charlotte d'Amboise Among Instructors Camp Broadway, the popular summer camp for aspiring young performers, and Billy Elliot the musical will present the "Camp Broadway Dance Track" dance intensive March 14-18 and April 18-22.

The program, to be held 10 AM-5 PM Monday-Friday at Pearl Studios, will include five days of master classes, seminars in professional development and private instruction by Broadway performers, choreographers and dance teachers. Registration is available to dancers and theatre fans (ages 10-17). Participants will take ballet, tap and jazz classes and will be taught choreography from Broadway shows.

Billy Elliot's dance captain Robbie Roby will teach choreography from the musical. Other scheduled instructors include Tony Award nominee Charlotte d'Amboise (Chicago, A Chorus Line), Lenny Daniel (Chicago, Cats), Marilyn D'Honau (original West Side Story and Gypsy), Lesley Lockery and Patricia Lockery (the artistic directors of Dance Makers NYC), Rommy Sandhu (Mary Poppins, Bombay Dreams), Cynthia Thole (Nick and Nora, Meet Me in St. Louis)  and Jamie Salmon (Joffrey Ballet Company).

The week will conclude with a performance showcase and seminar with a Broadway casting director. A theatre trip to Times Square, including a pre-show lunch and ticket to a matinee of Billy Elliot, will also be included.

"Camp Broadway Dance Track enables young performers to learn essential skills from experienced and trained professionals," Sue Delano, Camp Broadway's dance director, said in a statement. "Our goal is to provide good advice on diet/nutrition, instruction on presentation techniques and a safe environment for young performers to express their creativity whether or not they aspire to a career in the professional theatre."
