News Camp Broadway Seeks Kids for Thanksgiving An open audition for kids to perform live in the 79th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade will be held Saturday morning, Aug. 6, in New York City.

Camp Broadway, the award-winning theater arts education company, is seeking 400 performance-loving kids, ages 9-13, to participate in a one-week program in New York City and then perform in the parade.

The audition will be held at Theatreworks/Chelsea Studios, 151 West 26th Street, between 6th and 7th Ave at 10 AM. Those auditioning should bring a competed application form (which can be found at www.campbroadway.com), wear dance shoes and comfortable clothing and be ready to dance.

Camp Broadway has been selected to perform the parade's opening number, "We Give Thanks Today," written by composer Andrew Lippa (The Wild Party). It celebrates kids across America waking up on Thanksgiving morning to the fantasy world of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Camp Broadway has also created a one-week program leading up to the parade performance, including a series of Broadway workshops, classes and rehearsals to prepare the kids for the nationally televised performance.

Upcoming auditions will also be held in Providence, RI (August 13); Dallas, TX (August 10); Saint Louis, MO (August 28); and Boston, MA (September 10). For those unable to attend an audition, videotape submissions will also be accepted for consideration.
