News Candice Guardino's Italian Bred, Directed by Donna Drake, Will Premiere Off-Broadway April 30 Italian Bred, the new Off-Broadway show written by and starring Candice Guardino, will premiere April 30 at the Theatre at St. Luke's.

Produced by Bull By The Horns Productions and 22Q Entertainment LLC, the production will feature direction by Donna Drake (A Chorus Line, Sophisticated Ladies, Woman of the Year, Wind in the Willows).

With this 80-minute one-woman show, "Candice slips in and out of characters as she serves up a full meal of growing up Italian on Staten Island," according to press notes. "Having written down everything her loving and outspoken grandmother ever uttered, she combines this unfiltered wisdom, along with her family's very Italian and definitive personalities and a generous helping of her own experiences. This hilarious and heartwarming show includes unique stories and memories from her childhood…with a liberal dash of live music!"

At every performance, Guardino will enlist a different celebrity guest star to join in the storytelling.

Italian Bred will also include a live three-piece band under the musical supervision of David Dabbon (Sondheim on Sondheim), who also provides arrangements.

The Theatre at St. Luke's is located at 308 W. 46th Street (between 8th and 9th avenues). For more information and tickets, call (212) 239-6200 or visit ItalianBredShow.com.
