Anders Cato directs the staging that features Atkinson in the title role and her real-life husband, Michel Gill, as Reverend James Morell. Candida will continue through July 5. Joining the couple onstage are David Schramm, Finn Wittrock, Samantha Soule and Jeremiah Wiggins.

George Bernard Shaw's 1894 comedy, according to press notes, "is about the domestic turmoil that ensues when a dashing and sensitive young poet comes between a socially progressive minister and his charismatic wife. Though the play revolves around a classic romantic triangle, the questions it raises about love, fidelity, and the imagination of the artist are as relevant today as ever."

Atkinson was Tony-nominated for her work in Enchanted April and The Rainmaker. Her additional stage credits include 33 Variations, Ivanov, All My Sons, The Vagina Monologues, Henry VIII and How I Learned to Drive. She is well known for appearances on television's "24."
