Black, who will be interviewed onstage by host Michael Grade, is joined by guests that include such alumni of the musical theatre world as Michael Ball (original star of Aspects of Love that Black provided lyrics for), Elaine Paige (Billy, Sunset Boulevard), Marti Webb (Tell Me on a Sunday) and Frances Ruffelle, as well as Ruffelle's pop star daughter, Eliza Doolittle.
Other guests include Katie Melua, David Arnold, Laura White, Marc Almond, Preeya Kalidas, Gregory Porter, Mary Jess Leaverland, Richard Stilgoe and Only Men Aloud.
They will be accompanied by the BBC Concert Orchestra conducted by Mike Dixon.
Black's stage musicals include Billy and Brighton Rock (both to music by John Barry), Bar Mitzvah Boy (to music by Jule Styne), Dear Anyone (to music by Mort Shuman), Bombay Dreams (to music by A.R. Rahman) and Dracula the Musical (to music by Frank Wildhorn). He is best known for his collaborations with Andrew Lloyd Webber on Tell Me on a Sunday, Aspects of Love, Sunset Boulevard and Stephen Ward the Musical (the latter two co-written with Christopher Hampton).
