The groups will perform together at Carnegie Hall in March 2005, after months of rehearsals led by conductor Craig Jessop, the music director for the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Jessop will visit each of the choir's hometowns, and will also communicate with the groups via interactive videoconference.

The festival will culminate with a four-day rehearsal with Jessop in New York Citym and a Carnegie Hall performance of Maurice Durufl_'s Requiem, accompanied by the Orchestra of St. Luke's. At the final concert, each choir will also perform selections with its respective conductor.

The Weill Music Institute was created last year with a donation from Carnegie's chairman Sanford I. Weill and his wife, Joan, to coordinate and expand the hall's educational programs.
