Carnival Knowledge, playing at the Bat Theatre Company's Flea Theatre Off-Off Broadway, will end its run on April 2 after extending an extra week. The original closing was set for March 26.
Carnival Knowledge -- presented by Lewis Allen, Sonny Everett, Faustwork and The Bat Theater Company -- is described as a "journey through numerous colorful characters." Rob Faust and Paola Styron, the show's creators, will employ dozens of masks (all created by Faust) to enact each piece, including a Fred Astaire tribute of sorts and Faust's autobiography of his childhood nanny, Margie. The production is supervised by producer and playwright (Tru) Jay Presson Allen.
The Flea has become home to increasingly eclectic offerings, from Karen Finley to Mac Wellman to the souped-up Kabuki of Benton Kozo.
Tickets are $25. The Flea Theatre is located at 42 White Street in Tribeca. For more information, call (212) 532-8887, or consult the website at www.offbway.com.
