Award-winning cabaret performer Richard Skipper, who performs as Carol Channing has added a Jan. 5 show at Don’t Tell Mama. Skipper’s show, “An Evening With Carol Channing” is directed by Thomas Morrissey, with choreography by Shannon Evans, special material by Jeff Matson and musical direction and arrangements by David Maiocco. Skipper describes his Channing impersonation as a “musical montage celebrating the career and persona of this unique, theatrical legend.” As with his other recent gigs there, Skipper’s Don’t Tell Mama engagement on Jan. 5 will blend Channing standards with original material and other familiar songs. Production notes indicate the show “surveys her life and resume with many stops along the way for Skipper's unique ‘ad lib’ interactions with the audience.”
The cover charge for the show is $20 with a two-drink minimum. Don’t Tell Mama is located at 343 W. 46 St. For information and reservations call (212) 757-0788 or visit www.richardskipper.com.
