News Carol Channing Is Live On Twitter as Part of Playbill's "Twitter Takeovers" Tony winner Carol Channing, the 93-year-old actress known for creating the role of Mrs. Dolly Gallagher Levi and is absent on social media, is given voice by way of Playbill's official Twitter account. The Broadway legend is currently live-tweeting until 1 PM EST.

Channing, the recipient of a Special Tony in 1968 and the Lifetime Acheivement Award in 1995, is known for originating the roles of Dolly Levi in Hello, Dolly! (Tony Award) and Lorelei Lee in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. She is a Tony nominee for her performances in The Vamp, Show Girl and Lorelei.

She will be joined by Tony Award winner Tommy Tune for Time Steppin', a conversation presented Nov. 8 at the SHN Theatre in San Francisco.
