Broadway legend Carol Channing is readying a Broadway revue based on her autobiography, "Just Lucky I Guess."

Channing and her manager, Roger Denny, told Playbill On-Line of the plans at a Nov. 3 salute to Playbill columnist Louis Botto.

Denny said the yet-untitled show will not be a solo show like Elaine Stritch’s recent At Liberty, but Channing, star of Hello, Dolly! and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, will star in the piece, along with other singers and dancers. Denny said no director has been engaged and no theatre has been booked, but he said Channing plans to have it up by the middle of 2003.

Denny said Channing is also planning a CD of songs, and a spoken recorded version of "Just Lucky I Guess."

Channing’s most recent Broadway appearances was in a revival of Dolly. She has kept a low profile since the acrimonious breakup of her long-time marriage in the late 1990s. -- Robert Viagas
