Carol Channing has been awarded the Distinguished Lifetime Service Award, bestowed annually by the League of American Theatres and Producers. The league is a trade organization of producers and theatre owners. The Hello, Dolly! star will receive her award at the league's Spring Road Conference, currently being held in Manhattan. The event draws the League's regional members, which make up more than half of the group's body. Alan Alda, star of Broadway's Art, is this year's keynote speaker. The conference lasts until Friday, May 8.
