Unlock'd, the new musical based on Alexander Pope's satirical poem "The Rape of the Lock," will make its New York Musical Theatre Festival debut Sept. 17.

Featuring book and lyrics by Sam Carner and music by Derek Gregor, the new pop-infused musical comedy Unlock'd takes place in "lavish Hampton Court, where, surrounded by mischievous spirits, feisty young Clarissa fights to win the heart of the Baron from her gorgeous stepsister Belinda. Chaos ensues and teacups shatter when the Baron's geeky brother Edwin enters the fray. "

Featured in the Unlock'd cast are Jackie Burns as Clarissa, Alison Cimmet as Avia, Maria Couch as Esther, Bill Evans as Caleb, Sarah Jane Everman as Belinda, Christopher Gunn as Edwin, Mary Catherine McDonald as Ariella, Christopher Totten as Barney, Jim Weitzer as The Baron and Darryl Winslow as Umbriel.

Tony Award winner Bruce Coughlin has orchestrated the score for the production, with music direction by David Andrews Rogers, scenic design by Tony Zimbardi, costume design by Colleen Kesterson, lighting design by Matthew Richards and fight choreography by Ron Piretti. Igor Goldin, a 2006 NYMF Award winner for Excellence in Direction for Common Ground, helms Unlock'd in its New York premiere.

Both Carner and Gregor are graduates of the NYU Tisch Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program. The 2004 staged reading of Unlock'd earned a Richard Rodgers Award, with subsequent mountings at the York and Abingdon Theatres.

Unlock'd runs Sept. 17-30 at the TBG Theatre, located in Manhattan at 312 West 36th Street. Tickets are available by visiting or by calling (212) 352-3101.
